An article in Saturday’s UK Times newspaper and magazine supplement featuring Anthony Loyd’s quest to track down surviving veterans of the Vietnam war that Don McCullin had captured within his many defining images of the conflict.
Loyd spent two years finding out ‘where they are now’ – the marines captured forever in an instant, in some of the bloodiest episodes in a conflict which killed so many.
The article reads across 6 spreads in the Times magazine supplement, coming full circle on a story begun 50 years ago when The Sunday Times assigned Don as its Vietnam war correspondent.
Don’s images of Vietnam, and his many of conflicts, can be found in Irreconcilable Truths, the Limited Edition three volume retrospective of his life and works.
The Times online article – which you can read here – also has a video, following Anthony Loyd on his search for these Vietnam vets.
